(SOLD) Antique Edwardian Gold Flat Curb Double Albert Watch Chain
(SOLD) Antique Edwardian Gold Flat Curb Double Albert Watch Chain
An antique gentleman’s watch chain with the attendant clasps has become a modern day jewelry wardrobe essential. Heavier, longer, and wider examples in 14k such as this are becoming scarce. This one dates to 1916, when the world was at war, at an inflection point in global history. The Great War changed society at large, and yet this chain has survived, complete with the original plaque marking its year of manufacture. The chain is generously proportioned and weighty, with flat curb links, a curved T-bar and three clasps. The chain has a reassuring presence, with a silky feel and soft patina imparted only by time. The color is that special shade of antique yellow gold— with a touch of rose, complementing modern day yellow and rose golds.
Marked 14k, 1916, with maker’s mark.
14k gold.
Dimensions and weight:
● 22.25 inches/56.5 cm long (primary chain, including end clasps)
● 4.2 mm wide
● 2 mm deep
● 47.3 grams
Period: Edwardian
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present.
