(SOLD) Antique Edwardian Diamond Sunburst Brooch/Pendant
Splendid, Iconic.
Empress Sisi of Austria was painted by Franz Xaver WInterhalter with an array of diamond stars in her gloriously rich tresses. A century later, First Lady (and American style icon) Jackie Kennedy was photographed often with her beloved antique diamond sunburst brooch. Jackie wore hers to state affairs pinned to her gown and tucked into her coiffure — showcasing the versatility of a statement brooch. Our diamond sunburst, circa 1910, dazzles with 113 diamonds — old mine and old European cuts — set with precision in platinum over gold. We love this stunning sunburst pinned to a lapel, threaded onto a chain, or securing an open cape.
The fittings are of fine quality: the pin is removable via a screw-in mechanism; a sliding trombone safety catch secures the brooch; a small bail/loop is attached via a hinged flip-up mechanism. At buyer’s option, we can add a larger loop to the small loop to accommodate a chain more readily (please contact us to inquire).
Chains shown are not included. The brooch is shown here worn on the Deconstructed Series (V) chain.
Unmarked.
