Flirty, French.

For the lover of traditional French jewelry — this is a marvelous pair of gold hoop earrings from the Savoy region of France (known as Savoyard creoles). made in the first 2 decades of the 20th century. We have seen several other examples of these beloved hoops, but these are among the finest. So flattering when worn, illuminating the face.

The earliest Savoyard creoles were a simple hoop with a faceted gold ball, Over time, the shape evolved into a half moon, then an octagon. These particular hoops are engraved, beaded, and embellished with applied elements, including touches of white gold. The large faceted beads and the dangling beads catch the light beautifully when worn. We particularly adore these worn in the summer, against sun kissed skin.
