(SOLD) Antique Victorian Rose Cut Diamond Solitaire and Gold Bangle, with Antique Box
We have a type — falling again and again for antiques that masquerade as modern.
Here, we have a 19th century time traveler — a hinged bangle crafted in yellow gold, claw set with a solitare rose cut diamond. The sleek design calls to mind a button passing through a buttonhole, or, more fancifully, a slide emoji!
This jewel is bold enough to fly solo, but it would also play well with a stack of thin bangles or a chain bracelet.
Safety chain present; clasp clicks securely closed. Gorgeous antique patina.
This will come to you in a period bangle box, lined in deep red satin and velvet, with a functioning snap closure.
Shown worn on a 6 inch wrist (loose fit).
Marked with Dutch oak leaf (in use 1853-1905) and maker’s mark.
14k, diamond.
Dimensions and weight:
● 60 mm x 52.9 mm inside diameters
● Inside circumference approximately 18.5 cm
● 17 mm wide
● 6 to 6.5 mm rose cut diamond (estimated .50 ct)
● 23.1 grams
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. We note that there are some shallow impressions on the back of the bangle — in our opinion normal and acceptable for an antique bangle that has been worn and loved. Please view video. In addition, there is an old repair/reinforcement on the inside of the bangle around the underside of the diamond setting (not visible from the front). The accompanying period box shows wear and tear, especially to the outside top surface; the inside still makes for a lovely display.
*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
