Antique Diamond and Platinum 6 Point Rayed Star Brooch (2.34 ctw)

$5,650.00

Dazzling, Crisp.

We have had several diamond stars before, and this is one of our favorites — for the very fine craftsmanship and the decidedly clean aesthetics.

The jewel dates to circa 1900, just as the traditional method of setting diamonds in silver transitioned to platinum. The result is a look that is thoroughly modern. Everything about this star is crisp and clear — from the white diamonds set in bright platinum over gold to the precise lines of the star’s points and the knife edged rays. Chef’s kiss.

Wear solo or in a cluster — especially with other diamond celestials. Or secure to a chain, to wear as a pendant. We think you will find dozens of ways to show off this heirloom jewel.

A similar brooch, set in silver, can seen in Understanding Jewellery, by Bennett & Mascetti, at page 231.

Chains shown are not included.

Unmarked.

Platinum, 18k yellow gold, diamond.

Dimensions and weight:

● 33.5 mm diameter

● 11 mm deep (with brooch fitting)

● 8.2 grams

● 2.34 ctw old diamond (estimated G/H colors and VS/SI clarities; old mine cut and antique rose cut diamonds)

Period: Edwardian
