(SOLD) Antique Austro-Hungarian Double Clasp Gold Chain

$1,150.00
Sold

Handsome, Handy.

A watch chain that is long enough to wear as a necklace is always a good find. Here, we have an Austro-Hungarian gold chain finished with a clasp on each end — a swivel dog clip and that and large and lovely spring ring. Both clasps can do double duty to hang charms and pendants.

We love it solo or with a pendant suspended from the spring ring, but we think it would also be great attached to another chain to create a longer, mixed link look.

From the hallmark on the chain, we know that the chain was assayed in Pest, Hungary, no later than 1922.

Marked with Austro-Hungarian fox head (in use from 1872 to 1922) on the chain; marked 14k on the clasps.

14k gold.

Dimensions and weight:

● 16.75 inches long

● 1.9 mm wide on the chain; 15.2 mm outside diameter on the spring ring

● 1.7 mm deep

● 9.9 grams

Period: Art Deco (1920)

*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. Clasps may be additions or replacements as they are marked 14k, but they are harmonious with the chain.
