(SOLD) Antique Art Deco Platinum and Gold Albert Chain Necklace
Dynamic, Dual.
Platinum and high karat gold bi-color curb links are as classic and chic as they come. Even the T-bar and dog clasp are bi-color. This antique watch chain, circa 1920, transcends time, as current today as it was 100 years ago. One spring ring and one dog clip finish each end, creating possibilities for adding pendants and charms. The T-bar slides along the length of the chain, for added versatility in creating looks. The gold is a rosy yellow, characteristic of many antique chains. With good weight, proportions — heavier and wider than many similar — and a very wearable length, this is an excellent addition to the carefully curated chain collection.
Note: The gold loop suspending the T-bar from the primary chain has been replaced by a hand crafted 18k gold loop; the original, while fully functional, showed thinning from wear. The new loop can be viewed in the last photo (the first three photos were taken with the original loop). In addition. the spring ring may be a period appropriate replacement, as it appears slightly more yellow than the gold links.
Shown layered with a Deconstructed Series (IV) chain, not included.
Marked “18”.
18k gold, platinum.
Dimensions and weight:
● 16.5 inches/42cm long
● 3.6 mm wide
