Antique Early 20th Century Russian Gold Watch Chain with XL Bolt Ring

$4,850.00

Old World meets New.

We always find ourselves drawn to the good chains — it’s instinct by now! And this one? A true classic beauty.

This antique watch chain features that coveted, thick curb link — smooth, weighty, and finished with both a dog clip and an oversized, sturdy bolt ring. The gold has that divine antique hue: a soft yellow kissed with rose (similar to antique French gold) often seen in older Russian pieces. Best of all, this pristine chain is fully hallmarked, confirming its Russian and early 20th century origins — from the final years when Imperial marks were still in use. We’re always thrilled to discover Russian jewels from this era — rare survivors of a turbulent history.

We love the choker length of this chain — so versatile. Wear it with the bold bolt ring front and center. Suspend a locket, pendant, or cluster of charms from it — or don’t. It’s striking on its own. It’s also a great length for wearing a brooch on the bolt ring. Layer it with other chains, join it to pearls or beads for a mixed-link look, or even wear it draped from the waist as a true watch chain. When in the mood for a longer look, add an extender or two. So many possibilities!

This is easily one of our favorite watch chain finds — timeless and chic in its simplicity.

Pendant shown is not included.

Marked with Russian marks for 56 zolotnik (14k), used from 1908 to 1927, assayed in Moscow. Also bears the maker’s mark and woman’s head wearing a kokoshnik at several points along the chain.

14k gold

Dimensions and weight:

● 15 inches, end to end including the clasps (wearable length would be just under 15 inches)

● 5.4 mm wide

● 2.7 mm deep

● 37.4 grams

Period: Early 20th century

*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age commensurate wear may be present. Note: in the scale photo — this chain sits fairly high on the neck for us, as we normally need more length; this chain will appear commensurately longer and larger for those with smaller frames.

*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
