Additional photos are forthcoming, but please contact us if you would like to see additional views asap.
Heirloom, Iberian.
This is a lovely example of traditional, regional earrings characteristic of Salamanca, in Western Spain, nearer to Portugal than Madrid. The look and feel is definitively Iberian — handcrafted in rich yellow gold and set with romantic, flinty rose cut diamonds. Jewelry of this type are often heirlooms, passed down in families through generations.
We absolutely adore these — the gently swaying of the pendant drops, the soft shimmer of the gold and diamonds. We felt instantly transformed when we tried these on — more bold, more alluring!
Unmarked.
15k to 18k (18k except at the joints, which test 15k; variability likely due to antique hand mixed alloy), diamond.
Dimensions and weight:
● 5 cm long (from top of ear wire)
● 16.3 mm wide
● 3.9 mm deep
● 13.8 grams
Period: 19th century
Note that the closures are “back to front”, with a tiny hook that passes through the back of the ear lobe to the front. The hook is latched through a loop at the front of the earring. This back to front closure is typical of some older antique earrings.
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present.
*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
