A gorgeous French long chain, circa 1890, that is perhaps the ideal. The links are sleek, with a touch of embellishment —perfect to complement a favorite locket or pendant without overwhelming, yet also special enough to stand alone. The sautoir is 6 feet long — enough to wrap 4 times — and deliciously dense and weighty. The chain opens and is equipped with 2 clasps — for extra versatility in wrapping and adding pendants. Shown here worn looped 3 times, with a pendant suspended on the dog clasp at the end, as well as a locket threaded onto the chain. The possibilities are myriad.
