(SOLD) Antique Diamond Charm Bracelet

Darling, Delightful.

When have you seen a more charming antique diamond charm bracelet? We have never!

A dozen diamond-set antique charms line a Victorian fancy link chain bracelet — with some of our favorite sentimental motifs: a horseshoe and sand dollar for good luck; a witch’s heart for love and protection; a moon for female power. These are surrounded by fauna themed charms, each with their own symbolic associations — a fox, rooster, quail, pheasant, rabbit, and a horse. The Victorians and Edwardians were sentimentalists as well as nature lovers! Finally, two letters complete the collection — a C and a D — perfect for anyone with loved ones with those initials, or perhaps they signify “Cherie” and “Dear”? Or a Big Red C for the Cornellians out there?

One would need to scour the antique markets for years to amass such a charm collection. We adore the themes represented, as well as the cohesive white and red color palette, accented by yellow gold. Look closely and see that some of the charms are also enameled — the fox’s mouth, the pheasant’s head, the rooster’s eye!

Diamonds are set in silver over gold or in gold, except for the sand dollar, which tests as silver.

Shown on a 6 inch wrist.

Unmarked.

14k gold, silver, diamonds, other gemstones.

Dimensions and weight:

● 6.5 inches long (in our opinion, best suited for a wrist up to 6 inches, to allow for some movement)

● 2.4 mm wide/deep on the bracelet

● Charms vary in size

● 22.6 grams

Period: Victorian/Edwardian/Art Deco

*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Under 10x magnification we observe one very tiny diamond deficient from the rabbit charm, near its loop — barely detectable even under magnification. We replaced a diamond in the horse’s eye, post-photography. We believe at least some of these charms were originally stick pins. Our jeweler has inspected each link in the chain and expertly restored as needed.
