(SOLD) Antique 19th Century Gold Heart "Padlock" Locket Pendant

As the saying goes — good things come in small packages!
In this case, this is the most darling locket — in the form of dimensional heart shaped “padlock.” The heart opens as a hinged locket, while the “shackle” of the padlock is actually a clever bail, with two hidden loops on the back side for a chain or a thin silk cord. The locket snaps shut securely, and there are two finger “tabs” at the seam to facilitate opening.
The entire surface is engraved with floral and foliate details, for a soft, romantic look. A lot of presence for a more petite pendant. Such a marvelous, sentimental jewel, discovered in Paris.
