(SOLD) Antique Victorian Vatican Workshop Grand Tour Etruscan Revival ROMA Bulla Locket Pendant

Rare, collectible, fabulous quality Etruscan Revival “bulla” pendant, circa 1860, with fine wirework and granulation throughout and “ROMA” in raised lettering on one side. The bulla opens on a hinge at the top to reveal an empty glazed locket compartment. The bulla is a piece of souvenir “Grand Tour” jewelry, and it would have been acquired during travels in Italy. This would look amazing on a wide gold collar or on a thick silk cord.

Chains shown here are not included.

Marked with the maker’s mark of the Vatican workshop (two crossed keys under a mitre) in use until 1870. 

18k gold.

●       23 mm wide

●       10 mm deep

●       15.8 grams
