(SOLD) Vintage Harlequin Spinel and 22k Gold Hinged Eternity Bangle
A gorgeous rainbow of colors is on display in this hinged eternity bangle crafted of rich 22k yellow gold, set all around with 14 marquise shaped spinels. The bangle hinges open and closes with a screw-in mechanism. It is further secured with a safety chain anchored by a darling heart-shaped padlock charm.
This is surely one-a-kind, most certainly a custom piece. It brings to mind early-20th century pieces, when multi-colored gemstone jewelry was popular. It is possible that this has a connection to India or Burma, based on the high karat gold, the collection of spinels, and the screw closing mechanism. This was, however, acquired in Europe.
Unmarked.
22k gold, minimum of 18k gold on the safety chain and charm, spinel.
Dimensions and weight:
● Inside circumference estimated at 6.75 inches (17.14 cm)
● 21.5 grams
● 14 ctw of spinel (each spinel estimated at 1 carat)
Period: 20th century
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present.
