Playful, Multi-tasking.
In the Ball and Chain Series, we modernize classic Victorian and Edwardian chains for the way we wear chains today — with the addition of a few well-placed loops and a solid gold ball. Here, we have an Edwardian long guard chain (circa 1914), in a substantial, sleek, flat curb link. We added a custom made-for-us gold ball and loop to one end and a second loop a few inches up to create a “dropper” — clasp the chain closed at either of these loops with the original spring ring clasp.
We love this one doubled, with the dropper dangling in Y formation. We also love wearing this chain long — flapper-style, or casually tied. Experiment freely — and notice how the weight of the ball helps to anchor it all in place when you loop and play. In particular, we encourage the use of the spring ring clasp or a Luck and Lockets Lucky 8 Clasp and Charmholder to display favorite charms and pendants. Most of all, we love how this sinuous, weighty chain molds to the body.
